it's been a long time.. sorry..

So yeah this is my bad.. I've been taking a forced break from the internet this past week.. meaning my internet didn't work lol.. well first of all I have to say that my blogs got canceled again so that is not my fault.. apperently technology hates me as much as I hate it. oh well I think I already knew that.
So this semester is finally over!!! My finals all sucked!! No just kidding.. well the organic chemistry did suck but I can't do everything perfect right? So yeah that's finally done with.. and then I finally came back home to Italy.. the flight wasn't even that bad.. a little delay from Detroit to Amsterdam, and then the flight to Munich (Germany) was late, but my parents were there waiting for me, and I had called them telling them I would be late, so that was not a problem. It was awesome though, because when I was in Amsterdam, they announced that a lot of airports in Europe got shot down because of the huge snowstorms everywhere, but I didn't have any problems..
Home is perfect!! it just feels right being here.. and the food is absolutely amazing!! I ate so stinkin' much that I think I gained the freshmen 30 (in my junior year) in one night.. My family celebrates Chrismas on Christmas Eve with my grandmas, my aunt and her family, and my other onkle.. we ate like there was no tomorrow.. and we were sooooo full that we didn't even eat dessert cause we were so stuffed..
I still don't know what I'm going to do for new year's eve because there has been a little misunderstanding with my friends cause we didn't know who all was going to be here.. but I'll keep you posted on my awesome Christmas break here in Italy!!!

what a lab...

Attention: this blog is only for those of you who have a strong stomach...
So today during my anatomy lab we went a little crazy.. we had to disect the digestive system (stomach, intestine, all that kind of stuff), and the head... so my group started with the digestive system.. we had to cut the stomach and look for a bunch of valves.. I'm cutting the stomach open right? and what starts coming out??? all the food the cat ate before he ... died i guess... it was disgusting.. and then we found out that our cat had a huge stomach, because none of the other groups' cats had that big of stomachs and they basically didn't find and food in theirs... awesome.. so we get done with that (we found a bunch of other stuff too but it's way too disgusting for this blog) and we start on the head.. we were given this knife thing and we had to cut it and take half its face out.. let me say this first though.. my group consists of me and three other guys.. big football player kind of guys.. so you would think they would be brave enough to do this without complaining or actually gagging.. well they couldn't.. it was disgusting.. the sound it made and the feeling you felt when you were going through the bones and cracking stuff.. just horrible.. but at the same time kind of cool.. don't get me wrong I'm never going to do this again in my life, but it just fascinates me how our body looks like from the inside..
well this is it for today.. tomorrow is our last day of class before break and I can't wait..

So first of all I have to apologize for the past two weeks' posts.. somehow they just disappeared after I posted them.. apperently technology hates me, but I already knew that..
Anyways... THE TRINE FOOTBALL TEAM MADE IT PAST THE FIRST ROUND OF PLAYOFFS!!! We played Depauw University and won 45-35!! this was the first game this season that was actually close and made everybody nervous, but we won and it was just perfect... so next week we are playing the defending champions Whitewater in Wisconsin... so exciting!!! This means that I am not going anywhere during Thanksgiving break, because being from Italy you know I'm obviously not going there.. but my boyfriend is on the football team and they are going to have practice the whole week and I don't want to drive by myself for 4 hours to go to my hostparents' house.. which is good, because with finals creeping up on us I need to get all my projects and papers done... so hopefully i'll get everything done and the football team will win and keep going on their way to the national championship.. it's going to be hard, but one can always dream right?

It's been a looooong week...

Sorry it took me so long to post something this week, but as my title says, it's been a looooong week.. School is not getting any easier, and some professors just think that the class they teach is the only one students are taking because they assign so much homework and studying that there is not time left to do anything else... But besides that it's also been a fun week.. tuesday we had a tornado warning on campus and everybody was sent to the lowest level in the building they were staying in.. it was sort of exciting and nice to get out of class, but at the same time sitting in the hallway with about 100 other students with no ventilation at lunch time for one hour got us all tired and in a really bad mood.. And then walking around campus with that wind was kind of hard...
It was also halloween weekend this weekend, and it was so much fun.. I went as Jasmin from Aladdin and I made my costume.. it was so hard, but it turned out really good so that was nice.. saturday everybody went out and had fun and it was nice just hanging out with people I never get to see during the week. I saw some pretty amazing costumes too... This one girl was dressed up as a guitar, which I though was pretty amazing, there was a girl dressed up as Katie Perry in her music video "California Girlz", and then all the traditional ones:angels and devils, fairies, football players, ...
But yeah.. overall this was a very productive week and hopefully school is going to get better.. which we all know it's not going to, but one can never stop dreaming right?
Well.. I hope I'll have something fun to talk about next week, besides disecting cats and studying for my tests.. lol..

Our intro video is all done..

Hi everybody..
sooo.. yesterday we had our interview for the intro video.. for those of you who don't know about it, we shot a video for our blogs and it looks like the introduction video from Friends (the tv show).. which is awesome because I love that show.. we shot that about three weeks ago and finished the interviews yesterday because we could never get together due to our busy schedules.. it was sooooo much fun!! I can't believe that we all didn't know eachother before this, because yesterday we were all so close, helping each other with our lines and looking awesome.. and I'm not goinog to lie.. the first 10 minutes of the first shoot were kind of awkward, but then we all started talking and getting to know eachother.. and then all the weird things we had to do.. like dancing around by ourselves with people walking by and looking at us like we were crazy... yeah.. that brought us closer together.. lol..
So hopefully the video will be online soon and everybody will be able to see it and make fun of us..

Meet the Blogger!!

Hi everyone!!
So I was thinking that before starting this blog I should probably introduce myself a little better.
My name is Astrid and I'm from Italy!! I'm and international student and I absolutely love it.. I think it's a lot of fun every time someone asks me where I'm from and seeing their reaction when they find out about it. I am a junior at Trine majoring in Biology with a Pre-Med track and a minor in Athletic Training... It's a lot of work but I really like it. I love swimming and listening to music (except courty music.. can't really listen to that without falling asleep..lol). My favorite show is That 70's Show.. I've seen every single episode and still watch it everyday..
Anyways.. Enough with the boring talk..
Something I did this week that I thought was awesome was disecting a cow's heart in my Anatomy lab.. It was a lot of fun, but it smelled sooooo bad.. It was huge and smelly.. but funny!!
Ok I promise I'll have something good to talk about in my next post..
